Book Quality Criteria
A good book meets the following quality criteria:
1. Material
The content of a good book is in accordance with the Core Competencies and Basic Competencies.
2. Packaging
The book is attractively packaged, starting from the cover, the use of paper, the quality of the binding so as not to interfere with the reader in understanding the contents of the book
3. Language Delivery
Adjust the delivery of language with the segmentation of readers and the type of book.
4. Illustration
Use graphic images that are aligned and synchronized with the content of the description being discussed. Image quality is usually at least (ideally) 300dpi.
Book Writing Ethics
The ethics that need to be considered when writing a book are as follows:
- Be honest about the sources or references used.
- Direct quotations should not exceed 10% of the book.
- Intellectual works are considered public domain after 50 years.
- Do not change arguments, terms, or formulations just to avoid being called a plagiarist.
Book Parts and Structure
Generally, a book has 4 parts, namely: Cover, Preliminaries, Contents and Postliminary. The structure of these sections can be seen below.

Book Spine
- Main Title
- Author’s Name
- Name of Publisher (if published)
Back Cover
- Main Title
- Name and About the Author
- Synopsis
- Name and Address of Publisher (if already published)
- ISBN number
- Half-title page (The first page after the cover. Always located on the right, this page contains the title of the book only).
- Main Title (Contains the title of the book in a more attractive, striking, interesting manner than the half-title. In addition to the book title, this page also contains the author’s name and publisher’s name and address).
- Copyright Page (Contains an excerpt of the Copyright Act)
- Dedication Page
- Acknowledgments Page
- Remarks
- Foreword Page
- Preface Page
- Table of Contents
- List of Tables
- List of Images
- List of Abbreviations
- Introduction Page
The body of the book is adjusted to the logic or scientific structure of the book.
- Section (Parts)

- References or Bibliography
- Appendix (May contain supplementary material, explanations or may be supporting material added outside of the main discussion)
- Epilogue (Contains conclusions and expectations that the author wants after the reader has finished reading the book)
